Journeyer Cowl - Crocheted!

I had a great time designing this soft, squishy cowl. I've been spending lots more time knitting the past couple years, and it felt great to have a hook in my hand again! My Mother taught me to crochet when I was 3 years old, and it was definitely my first love as far as handiwork goes. I've crocheted countless blankets and hats and stuffies over the years - but this is my very first cowl. I call it "Journeyer" because that's what I've felt like on this long road of fiber art. From crochet to knitting to sewing and embroidery. From spinning and felting and fiber farming and dyeing - every year seems to hold something new and exciting in my fiber art journey! Anyway, here it is - "Journeyer", modeled by my beautiful daughter, River (who I taught to crochet at a very young age :)

You can find this pattern on Ravelry and the yarn in my Etsy shop. The "Journeyer" cowl is FREE until January 28th, and I'm have a SALE in my Etsy shop until February 1st! No code necessary for the pattern, but for the sale in my Etsy shop you'll have to use the coupon code SNOWDAYS at checkout for 20% off your entire order.

Beach Peas Tam and Cowl Patterns

Alla Saenko from Island Knits Design has designed a gorgeous hat and cowl pattern with Morning Bright Holistic Merino Aran! This slouchy, textured and cozy hat is called the "Beach Peas Tam" and was knit with my colorway "Sand Dollar", which shows off the all the pretty stitches perfectly.

And there's even a cowl to match! Here's the beautiful "Beach Peas Cowl"
The "Beach Peas Tam" is available now, and the "Beach Peas Cowl" will be released on January 10th. I'm so honored that Alla chose my yarn for these amazing patterns! And I'm grateful that she kindly allowed me to use her photos, because I couldn't wait until I've finished knitting my own to tell you all about this lovely set :)

New Hat Pattern and Some Very Fluffy Pom Poms!

I designed this knitted hat for my son and daughter, Konnor and River. They both wanted a slouchy hat, but River wanted hers to be pretty and with a big pom pom. Konnor wanted something more manly, and wasn't so much into a pom. So I gave River's a feminine seed stitch brim, and a big fluffy 100% angora pom. And I made Konnor's with a more masculine ribbed brim, and no pom. The rest of the hat is the same, and I've included instructions for both brims. So you get to choose! This hat is worked in the round, from the brim up, and can be worn slouchy with the brim unfolded, or as more of a beanie with the brim folded up.

I used less than one skein of my Holistic Merino DK in "Pine" for Konnor's and "Sand Dollar" for River's.

You can find this PDF download pattern for sale in my Etsy shop and on

And my Handmade 100% Angora Rabbit Fur Poms from my own rabbits are now available, too! They're selling quick, but I'm listing new ones all the time. You can also feel free to convo me on Etsy if you'd like to reserve a certain color or size. I make them as medium 4.5" or large 6" and they come in three natural colors - beige, gray, and white, and I can also dye them any color.

All of us here at Morning Bright would like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year!
