I'm so excited to announce a new yarn in Morning Bright's line up of fabulous bases! I've hand painted my very first batch of Organic Maine Wool - a wonderful worsted weight created with a medium-fine wool from sheep raised on certified organic Maine farms, and minimally processed at a small, certified organic mill in Vermont.

Here's "Schoodic" - a repeatable colorway inspired by my recent solo-camping trip on the coast of downeast Maine -

I've also been busy handspinning 100% angora lately. Here's my latest 2-skein batch - this is undyed, aran weight -

And here's the sweet fellow who provided the precious fluff - my Walter -

My beautifully talented friend, Alicia Plummer of Two Little Plums, has released a gorgeous cowl pattern, "Wharf", using my DK weight organic merino. Maine coast-inspired stripes of "That Summer" and "Childhood" are knit in the round in a simple lace pattern.

I decided to knit my "Wharf" with some of my fingering weight organic merino, in "Daydream" and "Believer". I used smaller needles (3mm and 3.5mm) and increased the cast on number to 260. So lovely! It's also beautiful doubled as a neckwarmer.

I've got some great new colors of fingering weight organic merino in the works right now - stay tuned!
